Casa Sirena is our home here, so we’ve had years to learn the island’s soft side. Here’s where we send the people we love.

The fish baskets at Café del Sol, tacos at Breaking Bread, and F&B for a nicer night out. Café Karma & Books for a good cup and a browse.

Nature & a little wonder

Take the kids to Sea Turtle, Inc. to meet the rescued sea turtles, and to the Birding & Nature Center for the boardwalks out over the flats — a soft-education morning that feels like play.

For the teens, or a rainy day

When they need an outing, the mall over in Brownsville is an easy afternoon — shops and a movie.

On the Fourth

Come for the Fourth of July if you can: fireworks over the bay, the whole island out to watch.
